White and Phillips will combine their talents for the afternoon gala celebration of the year’s finest American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) amateur racers. “I am excited to co-host this year’s AMA Racing Championship Banquet with Ashley Phillips,” said White, a longtime motorcycle enthusiast. “Being able to meet the nation’s best amateur motorcycle racers and share such a great moment of accomplishment is something special.” White, who has worked motorcycle races for SPEED, CBS, FOX and FOX Sports, has been a motorcycle racing commentator for SPEED TV for the past 14 years. In addition, he has also hosted over 200 shows, including “2 Wheel Tuesday” and “Copart Sold in Seconds.” Since 2009, Phillips has been a live event floor announcer for Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. She has been an avid race fan since the age of 5. “To be a part of the AMA Legends and Champions weekend in Las Vegas is a huge honor,” said Phillips, who was Miss Arenacross from 2006 though 2008, during which time she became a live show announcer who also served as commentator on the “Fan of the Week” segment on SPEED. “2011 has been a year of many great champions, and I can’t wait to recognize their accomplishments alongside Greg White,” she said. “I get chills thinking about the room packed with the greatest amateur racers in the world, sitting with their families and teams. Nov. 20 can’t come fast enough for me.” AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman was also enthusiastic about the coming event. “We are delighted to have two such talented individuals on stage as we salute this year’s AMA champion athletes,” Dingman said. “The banquet is the perfect way to cap off an entire weekend of activities that honor the legends and champions of motorcycling.” The AMA Visa Card Racing Championship Banquet on Sunday, Nov. 20, is just one part of the exciting 2011 AMA Visa Card from Capital One Legends & Champions weekend.
