Dunlop’s Newest USA-Made Racing Slicks Win 2011 Championship Buffalo, NY: The 2011 WERA National Endurance Series served as a demanding real-world test for the brand-new USA-built Dunlop KR448F and KR449 racing slicks, and the final result was more””much more””than a passing grade. Using these new tires all season long, the BEI Racing Team earned this year’s WERA National Endurance Series championship in spectacular fashion aboard their Suzuki GSX-R1000. Out of seven races that spanned from four to six hours long, BEI Racing Team members Tim Bemisderfer, Billy Etheridge, Mark Junge and Brian Stokes won five races and finished second once “” truly dominating results. And for good reason: the KR448F and KR449 incorporate the same advanced N-Tec, MT Multi-Tread and Intuitive Response Profile (IRP) technology that has proven so effective in Dunlop’s national championship-winning road racing tires. The KR448F and KR449 racing slicks, however, are tires created primarily for club-level racers and hard-core enthusiasts who enjoy participating in track days. And as this WERA championship proves, the end result are tires made in America that perform when put to the test. The KR448F and KR449 tires are available to all racers and track-day enthusiasts from Dunlop’s race-tire outlets, Erion Racing (800-700-3599) and Race Tire Services (800-772-8473). More, from a press release issued by Graves Motorsports: Garrett Gerloff and His Graves Motorsports Prepped Yamaha R6 are Champions at GNF Kennesaw, Georgia This has been a momentous season for Graves Yamaha rider Garrett Gerloff. Great things were expected from this rising star, and boy did he deliver! All season the youngster brought home win after win in WERA sprint races, rode in a team effort to an Endurance win, at NJMP won his first ever AMA Pro race (the first ever to win their first AMA Pro race and the youngest ever to win an AMA Pro race), and to cap off the year, Gerloff added two more race wins culminating in a Championship and runner-up (by just a few points) at last weekend’s WERA GNF at Road Atlanta. The kid and his Yamaha R6 are unstoppable! “I was super happy to finish off the year strong with two race wins and a championship,” said Gerloff, “This year has been a blast and I learned a lot. I am really looking forward to racing in the AMA next year. I couldn’t have done it without my crew chief, Brian Stokes, my dad and mom, Graves Motorsports and all of my other sponsors.” Brian Stokes, crew chief for Gerloff, has watched the talented rider progress in his craft. “It has been another awesome year working with Garrett,” said Stokes, “He learned a lot this year and he’s really coming into his own. Big thanks goes out to Graves Motorsports for the great equipment.” Owner of Graves Motorsports, Chuck Graves, was impressed with Gerloff’s performance over the season. “Garrett did an amazing job this year,” said Graves, “Bringing home race wins and a Championship is no simple task and I am glad that we could be part of his success. Garrett uses our WORKS program and I am extremely excited to see the efforts that we at Graves and Yamaha have been putting into the Graves WORKS program continues to get results.” After such an impressive 2011 season, 2012 looks to be even more promising for Gerloff. We can hardly wait to see what he has in store!
