PERFORMANCE TECHNICAL RACING LTD (PTR), the organisation behind the highly successful Parkalgar Honda and Bogdanka PTR Honda World Supersport race teams, is looking for an aspiring World Supersport Champion to race it’s bikes in 2012 onwards. Eugene Laverty on the Parkalgar Honda won 12 out of 25 races in 2009/10 and finished runner-up in the World Championship twice. In 2011 young British sensation Sam Lowes has scored numerous podiums on his step up to World level and will start 2012 as one of the firm favourites to be World Champion. More recently, James Ellison on the Bogdanka PTR Honda came within one-hundredth of a second of winning the ninth round of the Championship at the Nurburgring and is a contender for race wins. Now PTR wants any aspiring World Champions who would be interested in joining the team for 2012 to come forward and book their place on what is widely regarded as the best Supersport Honda in the World – but the fact is they will need talent and money to get the seat. PTR Director Simon Buckmaster said: “PTR has a proven track record of producing what is the best Supersport Honda in the world and winning races and scoring podiums on a regular basis. The pedigree is there and we have an opening for a single racer for 2012 to join us and ride our bike. “The opportunity is strong – just look at Eugene Laverty who is now a World Superbike race winner and fighting for the Championship podium; he relaunched his career with us and is now an established star. We want to hear from aspiring World Champions who have the confidence and ability to win races and want to make a professional career in racing. “The rider will have to bring money for the seat though, that is the reality of motorcycle racing in these very difficult financial times. However, the return for any sponsors or backers they have is enormous as we can offer full branding and sponsor benefits of a front running team within the package – typically we have delivered between 8:1 and 11:1 return on investment over the last three years for our existing sponsors, so as a sports marketing platform it is very strong and cost effective. “We welcome applications from any riders with ambitions who can back up their position with finance, let’s get racing and winning together.” The anticipated finance level to compete in the 14-round 2012 World Supersport Championship is a cost effective career catapulting €350,000 (approximately $475,800 USD). Interested riders or sponsors should make contact in the first instance to PTR via info@performancetechnical racing.com.
