PENULTIMATE ROUND OF THE 2011 WORLD SUPERBIKE SEASON AT MAGNY COURS. THE CONDITIONS OF MAX BIAGGI’S FOOT MAKE RECOVERY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE THE FRENCH ROUND. LEON CAMIER TAKES TO THE TRACK TO CONTINUE THE POSITIVE TREND AFTER HIS PODIUM AT IMOLA. Noale, September 28th, 2011 The Aprilia Alitalia Racing Team is hard at work with no time for a break in World SBK. But with Imola just a few days behind us, Max Biaggi is still struggling with the serious injury to his left foot suffered on the Nurburgring which forced him to miss the Italian round. The fracture to his metatarsus, still not completely healed, was evaluated again in the last few hours, but the results of the examination were no different than those of last Thursday in the Mobile Clinic. In fact, the fracture prevents functionality of the foot which is needed for gear changes. A chance to get back on the track is postponed once again for Max: “I would have liked to have been at Magny Cours, just as I wanted to race at Imola. The fact that I was at the track on Thursday to try any possible solution confirms that, even if, unfortunately, I had to give in to the medical evidence. And the same thing happened for Magny Cours, a round which is just too close to hope for recovery. Unfortunately this injury requires a recovery time which does not reconcile with my desires. Now I’ll do my best to go through the recovery process and to end this season at the Portimao round”. So now the Aprilia Alitalia Racing Team is focused on the number 2 RSV4, ridden by Leon Camier. The English rider hopes to continue the good trend from Imola, when he tool a podium in third place for race 2.
