Special discounted price to practice and race on Miller’s Full Course for Masters of the Mountains Round 7. (Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele UT September 21, 2011) Utah Sport Bike Association is pleased to announce special discounted pricing October 1-2 for Masters of the Mountains Round 7 on Miller Motorsports Park’s stunning 4.3 mile long Full Course. The cost to practice on Saturday has been reduced to just $75, and an additional $50 “bring a friend” race fee discounts are still available to riders or friends who haven’t raced with UtahSBA during the past two seasons. A current race license is required from UtahSBA, AFM, AMA, AHRMA, CCS, CMRA, CRA, MRA, OMRRA, SMRI, USGPRU, WERA, WMRRA, or WSMC to participate in the weekend’s events. So what’s the bottom line? Riders can practice on Saturday and ride the hour and a half Endurance race Saturday afternoon for as little as $125, and $75 for each additional rider on the endurance team, all on the longest and best road race course in North America. UtahSBA will also have a full schedule of sprint races on Sunday. It’s a great way to round out the season. “Financially, this season has been pretty tough on racers, organizations and tracks alike,” said UtahSBA President Kory Cowan. “When we heard our friends at the MRA were cancelling their last round of racing, we wanted to help bring more Colorado racers out to join us. We’ve also got many of our regular Masters of the Mountains racers who drive from Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Canada, so I hope this helps pay some of their fuel costs to get down here.” “2011 hasn’t been a good year for UtahSBA either, but nothing compared to 2010. This year we’ve seen consistent growth in our novice grids thanks to our new RacingExperience program, so we thought we’d give a little back to all racers and look forward to a fantastic 2012. We couldn’t do this without the support and strong partnership we have with the good people at Miller Motorsports Park. They’re the real deal “¦ they love racing.” Read the MRA’s cancellation press release: ~https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=46027~ Nearly every championship is up for grabs with close points chases going into the final round. Ryan Brand is leading Jesse Sherstan by just two points in the premier King of the Mountain GTO race. Sherstan is leading Brand in Open Superbike and Open Superstock. In the middleweight classes, Scott Decker is followed closely by Jerry Hicks in Middleweight Superstock, and Clint Gibson in Heavyweight Superstock, but has Middleweight Superbike and King of the Mountain GTU locked up. Amateur GTO and GTU, as well as Novice GTO and GTU championships are still up in the air and coming down to the final round of racing. UtahSBA will also offer our RacingExperience introduction, licensing and mentor program for Round 7. With nearly 45 riders attending the class over the first six rounds of racing, graduates have gone on to show skill, poise and maturity as provisional novices with several new racers getting up to speed quickly and should prove formidable competitors in the expert ranks next season. It’s a great way to get a taste of racing for just $175. The seven-race Mountains series, developed by Miller Motorsports Park, organized by the Utah Sportbike Association (UtahSBA) and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), was created to encourage competitive road racing at the club and regional levels. In its seventh year, the series has quickly turned into a premier event drawing top-level talent from around the nation.
