British Superbike Championship Resumes September 23-25 At Silverstone

Best of British heading to Silverstone BSB – MotoGP Brits to meet fans at autograph and Q&A sessions – Silverstone hosts penultimate round of British Superbikes: 23 25 September The MCE British Superbike Championship, in association with Pirelli, (BSB) heads to Silverstone on 23 25 September, when the famous Northamptonshire circuit will stage the penultimate round of another scintillating BSB season. As the season draws to a close, the racing at Silverstone promises to be fiercer than ever as the top six ‘Title Fighters’ head into the second of three final ‘Showdown’ rounds. Samsung Crescent Racing Suzuki rider John Hopkins currently leads the championship and knows Silverstone’s fast and flowing layout well, having raced there earlier this year as a ‘Wild Card’ entry in World Superbikes. He faces tough competition however, with fellow ‘Title Fighters’ Tommy Hill, Shane Byrne, Michael Laverty, Josh Brookes and Ryuichi Kiyonari doing all they can to overtake Hopkins at the top of the leaderboard. In addition to the non-stop on-track action which includes two BSB races on Sunday 25 September, plus a host of fiercely contested support series Silverstone has announced that all seven of Britain’s MotoGP riders will be at the Northamptonshire circuit on the Sunday to meet the fans, sign autographs and attend Q&A sessions. MotoGP Brits confirmed to be at Silverstone on the Sunday of BSB, include: MotoGP and Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider, Cal Crutchlow Moto2 and Tech 3 Racing rider, Bradley Smith Moto2 and Marc VDS Racing Team rider, Scott Redding Plus 125cc riders Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo MotorSport), Danny Webb (Mahindra Racing) Taylor MacKenzie (Phonica Racing), and Harry Stafford (Ongetta-Centro Seta) In addition to the Q&A and autograph sessions with the MotoGP riders, fans will also enjoy free access to the BSB paddock, plus a host of off-track entertainment, including: · Craig Jones Stunt displays · An air display by the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team · Honda Experiential Zone · Supermoto and Mini Motos · Fairground All of the action will take place on Silverstone’s high-speed, 3.666 mile Grand Prix circuit, which provided plenty of drama and overtaking when MotoGP and World Superbikes visited earlier in the year. The BSB race weekend completes Silverstone’s triple-crown of bike events in 2011.
