Successful Test in Misano for De Angelis and the JiR Team It’s back early from vacation for the JiR Team and its rider Alex De Angelis, [August 7] on the Misano Adriatico track for an exclusive day of private test with the objective to evaluate and consolidate some evolutionary steps for the MotoBI. The day was very positive because of the ideal climatic conditions (temperature and humidity), with lots of sunshine and little wind, which left the team free to concentrate on the job, meaning that De Angelis was able to make 75 laps, storing useful data for the GPs ahead as well as the event to be held at Santamonica in a month’s time. The attention focused in particular on the set-up, with modifications on the suspension department, in addition to other evolution steps on the chassis. The timing, though unofficial, has returned a performance in line with the best lap of the race that Alex had recorded last year. An important day both in terms of data collection and for rider and team morale, a confirmation of the efforts that the team headed by Gianluca Montiron is dedicating to the Championship, continuing the positive growth recorded in the first half of the season. Gianluca Montiron We have defined Misano and Valencia as test tracks in view of the final half of the Championship. After the summer break to have ran a lot of laps is definitely a positive factor for the rider to regain the right rhythm to push hard from Brno on. Before the race in Aragon we will test again one day in Valencia. The lap times are always important in racing while considering the different configuration of the engine and tyres, compared to last year. I hope to be able to see during the San Marino Grand Prix the benefits of this test. Alex DeAngelis It was an important day of testing because the high temperatures and lack of wind allowed us to run in good weather conditions. We did about 75 laps and the fastest time was positive, we matched the same time of last year’s best race time. We focused on set-up tests with new calibrations both for the front fork and for the rear suspension. The goal is to make our MotoBI increasingly stable and improvements are coming.
