A set of custom-painted Suzuki GSX-R600/750 bodywork that has been autographed by Paris Hilton and Jay Leno is being auctioned off to benefit the Roadracing World Action Fund. The highest of the 40 bids placed so far is $5002.11 (as of 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time today), but over 11,300 people have viewed the auction since it started Sunday, July 17. The auction ends just after 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, July 24. Go to the eBay listing here: ~http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120751079216&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT~ The bodywork was painted to replicate the paint scheme of the Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team, which is associated with Hilton and competes in the 125cc Grand Prix World Championship, and to mount onto a 2011-model Suzuki GSX-R600 that was used to chauffeur model and actress Hilton onto the stage of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno May 27, 2011. The episode can be viewed online via this link: ~http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/video/paris_hilton_part_1_52711/1330694~ Hilton and Leno both autographed the top of the fuel tank. The bodywork is designed to fit 2011-model Suzuki GSX-R600s and GSX-R750s. It may be possible to custom fit the bodywork to other racebikes or streetbikes. This is the same Hotbodies Racing bodywork used by top teams in the AMA Pro Road Racing series. It is made out of fiberglass with Kevlar-reinforced mounting points. It is a complete set of bodywork, including an upper fairing, a fluid-retaining lower fairing, a one-piece tail section, a front fender and a fuel tank. The lower fairing has been modified to work with a sidestand, but the lower fairing is not currently set up to accommodate the standard exhaust system of a 2011-model GSX-R600 or GSX-R750. The bodywork does not currently have cutouts for streetbike lights and turn signals, but it is possible for you to modify the bodywork to make it work with standard or aftermarket lights and turn signals. The bodywork has been painted by MC Pro Design, the bodywork painter of choice for many AMA Pro road racing teams. The bodywork will be mounted onto a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and displayed at the Roadracing World magazine (www.roadracingworld.com) booth in the vendor marketplace during the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix July 22-24 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. All proceeds from this auction will go to the Roadracing World Action Fund (~http://actionfund.roadracingworld.com/~), which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to promote motorcycle racing safety, and in particular, to encourage and facilitate the use of soft air barriers at motorcycle racing events. Since its formation in 2001, The Fund has raised over $800,000 and purchased and deployed soft barriers to road race and dirt tracks across the United States, preventing more injuries than can accurately be counted. To see how soft barriers benefit motorcycle racers, view this video: ~http://www.youtube.com/user/TripleNickelFilms?blend=3&ob=5#p/u/0/f5kUbrRC2B8~ A portion of the price paid for this bodywork may be tax-deductible in the United States.
