The historic bike event will bring tens of thousands of fans to the Lexington, Ohio racetrack as the weekend offers competition from dozens of race classes, a pair of bike shows, manufacturer demo rides and North America’s largest motorcycle swap meet covering nearly 20 acres. “The swap meet alone attracts thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country,” said Craig Rust, president of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, “But what makes AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days such a great event is that it offers so much more when you factor in the abundance of road and off-road races, seminars, demo rides and bike shows that take place all weekend.” Kawasaki is honored this year as the Marque of the Year and the Japanese manufacturer will have a number of new and vintage bikes on display in the Infield as part of Kawasaki City. AMA Hall-of-Famer Jeff Fredette will represent the brand as Grand Marshal. Fredette, winner of multiple gold medals at the International Six Days Enduro where he has competed 30 times will compete in races and sign autographs on Sunday. Other attractions at the event include a display from this year’s Classic Club, Aermacchi/Harley-Davidson, as well as seminars delivered by motorcycle industry mavens such as Craig Vetter, John Healy and Tim Yow and several Club Corral displays. Additionally, KTM, the Official Motorcycle of Mid-Ohio, and Kymco join Kawasaki with new bikes available for fans to test as part of demo rides. Dozens of race classes will compete all three days, featuring road and off-road disciplines including bikes from the 1950s to today. The motocross track has been enhanced and a number of new classes were added since last year. The road racing will take place on the track’s 2.4-mile, 15-turn configuration.
