Centurion Racing is pleased to confirm their participation in this year’s Isle of Man TT Races which takes place between 28th May and 10th June 2011.
The Cornwall-based race team, which had five successful years in the British Supersport Championship, is turning its attention to the world’s most famous road race in its Centenary year.
Team rider Dan Cooper from Stroud, who shared in many of Centurion Racing’s British Supersport successes, will enter a Triumph 675 Daytona in the Supersport class and a Honda Fireblade in the Superstock and Senior TT races. Dan’s race career includes a Championship win in the 125cc class, followed by progression to the Supersport class for Centurion Racing, with regular podium appearances.
Paul Rees, Team Principal, said: “Dan competed in his first TT race last year and was awarded the acclaimed Bronze TT Replica for his race performance. He has a smooth riding style and steely determination which has always impressed me and which is a good combination for the rugged TT circuit. He’s been working hard on his fitness which should stand him in good stead for this year’s races and hopefully he will be able to build on his maiden success from last year. There are many professional riders that won’t take on the challenge of this ultimate road race but TT riders have something special about them and they love this circuit. Personally I think to undertake the TT you have to be a bit brave and mad to do it, but you need to be a good rider! I’d just like to thank the organisers of the TT who have been brilliant and we’re really looking forward to it.”
Dan Cooper said: “I rode there last year and thought it was brilliant so I couldn’t wait for it to come round again. This year should be even better as I have gained more confidence, consistency and speed and have the support of Centurion Racing. The TT circuit is truly awesome, especially the organisation and safety measures that the organisers have established. You never stop learning on this circuit no matter how many times you go round. There are more senior, well respected riders out there who have been doing this race for years like John McGuinness, Ian Hutchinson, Conor Cummins, Michael Dunlop and Guy Martin to mention a few, who are constantly adjusting their styles, techniques and are forever learning the circuit. So basically, I have a lot to learn and a lot of catching up to do but it should be good.”
Centurion Racing will continue to show their support for Help for Heroes, their chosen charity, by displaying H4H logos on the bikes’ new livery designed by Rage Designs and team attire. Dan’s race helmet has been kindly donated by Arai and will be a one-off design by RichArt showing both the H4H and IOM TT logos. Team Principal Paul Rees, who spent 20 years in Her Majesty’s Royal Marine Commandos, was given permission to have the bikes carry the H4H logos in order to encourage the public to be more aware of this charity that supports our Armed Forces, many of whom are making daily sacrifices in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Wendy Hearn of Arai said: “We are delighted to be supporting Dan and Centurion Racing at the TT. Anything that helps the public to become more aware of the Help for Heroes charity we are happy to support and wish Dan and the team the very best of luck at the TT.”
Centurion Racing would specially like to thank Arai, FTR, GPR Racewear, Dunlop, Rage Designs, RichArt, R2 Logo Print & Embroidery, Akrapovic, Daytona, and Alan Smith of Smiths of Gloucester for personally supporting Dan, and all our friends and followers.

GBRacing going for clean sweep at the TT
GBRACING is aiming for a clean sweep of all races and podiums at the 2011 Isle of Man TT races after missing out on just one podium last year.
The motorcycle protection specialist is a firm favourite with more than 80% of the road racing teams and will be used by the HM Plant Honda team, Padgetts, Wilson Craig, Ryan Farquhar and Relentless Suzuki to name just a few at the 2011 event running from 30th May – 10th June.
GBRacing’s Graham Banks said: “We scored 14 out of a possible 15 podiums in 2010 and would love to achieve the clean sweep in 2011. It’s a big ask but most of the top teams are choosing to use our engine case covers so we have a chance. It is a real compliment that these teams choose to use GBRacing – they are not sponsored, so it means they really value the performance we offer.”
GBRacing will be set up in the Main Grandstand Paddock and while road riders will not be able to purchase the low-cost high-quality protection from the paddock, they will be able to see the quality for themselves and order through the website www.gbracing.eu.
GBRacing designs, develops and manufactures in North London the only MCRCB and FIM approved bolt on, composite injection moulded nylon 6.6 long glass fibre 60 per cent, secondary engine covers – that means they are super tough and protect a motorcycle’s engine in a crash, minimising chances of a holed crank case or generator and therefore saving potentially thousands of pounds.
As well as secondary engine covers, GBRacing manufactures frame sliders, crash bobbins and paddock stand bobbins.
For the full range and prices, visit www.gbracing.eu or a reputable motorcycle dealer or visit www.gbracing.eu or call Graham Banks on 0208 275 2630 or 07801 186172.

Honda TT Legends ready to fight on familiar ground
After contesting the first two rounds of the Endurance World Championship as an all-new outfit, the Honda TT Legends team heads to more familiar ground next week for its namesake event the Isle of Man TT.
Fifteen-times TT winner and outright lap record holder John McGuinness and teammate Keith Amor are both bike fit and mentally prepared having completed hundreds of superbike laps a piece during the Bol d’Or 24-hour race in France in April, and more recently at the Albacete 8-hour in Spain.
McGuinness’s 15-year knowledge of the circuit cannot be underestimated as he aims to defend his title as the fastest man around the Isle of Man TT lap. Relative newcomer Amor is hoping that his EWC experience, combined with the unrivalled knowledge of the Honda TT Legends team and the dynamic capability of the CBR1000RR Fireblade will help him bring home some solid results.
Following a week of practice sessions from Monday 30 May, McGuinness and Amor will compete for the Honda TT Legends in the Dainese Superbike race on Monday 6 June and the Pokerstars Senior Race on Friday 10 June. Neil Tuxworth, team manager We’re sticking to basic principles for the Isle of Man TT a proven formula for preparing the bikes as we always have, with performance and reliability in mind. The specification of the bike is virtually the same as we ran in 2010. Under the new Honda TT legends livery, we are of course aiming to win both superbike races and have both our riders on the podium.
John McGuinness Endurance has been really good for me it’s completely different and it has definitely improved my fitness but I am so excited to be back at the TT. There’s a buzz about it that you just don’t get anywhere else. I think we have all the right ingredients this year the team, the bike, the tyres it’s all there. There are some very competitive riders though and you just never know what will happen what will be will be but of course I want to win!
Keith Amor Racing in the endurance championship with the Honda TT Legends means that I have spent more time on a superbike than ever before this year. It has not only provided great experience getting to grips with a superbike but it’s also increased my fitness level. I have the benefit of a brilliant team with years of TT experience behind them and a bike that is a legend in its own right so everything is in place. I’m not stressing about getting my first win, but hopefully we can get on that podium.
