(May 24, 2011) Adding a dynamic new component to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix’s weekend of events, The Dirty Heads, one of the “Best New Bands of 2010″ (Rolling Stone) will be performing for race fans Saturday July 23 at 7 p.m. The Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, featuring MotoGP World Championship July 22-24 is part of a five race season schedule at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Last year more than 116,000 fans flocked to the Monterey Peninsula over three days to see the top international riders compete for the World Championship. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of the few tracks where fans can get so close to the riders and action. The Dirty Heads have a unique signature blend of acoustic infused hip-hop and classic reggae. They have been attracting attention throughout the world of entertainment, leading their music to be featured in television shows (Shark), movies (Surf’s Up, Surfer Boy), video games (Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam) and advertising (Vestal Watches, Hurley). Band members are: vocalist Jared Watson and guitarist/vocalist Dustin Bushnell, percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and David Foral on bass. The band’s expanded album titled, Any Port in a Storm Special Edition, features 22 tracks and the first smash hit single “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome, of Sublime with Rome. The Dirty Heads have toured the U.S. multiple times with bands such as O.A.R., 311, Sublime with Rome, Pepper, Kottonmouth Kings, Unwritten Law and Matisyahu.
