Maverick Viñales has again been greeted as one of the sensations among the 125 cc class riders -this time on MotoGP world championship’s fourth round GP of France held at circuit of Le Mans this weekend- thanks to his amazing performance during the official tests, during which he even held the pole position twice hence reaching the first row of the starting grid in the world championship for the very first time. Although this is only his fourth GP and the track layout was unknown to him Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team rider -the youngest in the category- remained among the top eight -in eighth position during the first free tests and seventh during the second and third. His time is only seven tenths behind the track’s record his team-mate Sergio Gadea has held since 2008 and as usual he rode alone without following anyone. Mack has proved he has made tremendous progress as he is only seven tenths behind the pole position held once again by championship’s leader Nico Terol. Sergio Gadea has been going through a hectic weekend so far and qualified in eighth position to start from the third row tomorrow. Puçol-born rider hardly hit the track yesterday during FP2 due to a faulty temperature sensor on his Aprilia’s exhaust pipe -which caused him to sit around in the box most of the time. This morning he had some mechanical failure but in spite of it all he was able to improve his times every time he could ride on this track where he won his first victory at the world championship in 2007 and where he has held the pole position’s record since 2008 with 1’43.515. At last he found a setting-up he feels competitive and at ease with after spending two GPs without this feeling. 25 MAVERICK VIÑALES (3rd. 1’44.315, +0.737): “I am really satisfied. We have trained hard and here is the result. I think we made the best out of the session from the very beginning and we have been really competitive. The key was to be able to find the right pace straight away -I managed to adapt to the track very quickly and the setting-up is really good. The team did a great job and the bike and I are at 100%. The track layout didn’t seem complicated to me even though it is sometimes tricky and I adapted from the very first free test. Starting from the first row is not stressing me out at all I find it rather motivating and we have to take advantage of such a position. I am not obsessed with the idea of reaching a podium but I would be so happy to be among the leading bunch from the very first lap and make the best out of this position on the starting grid. Finally I’d like to thank the whole team for the great job they have done.” 33 SERGIO GADEA (8th. 1’44.755, +1.177): “I am happy now we have found the right setting-up. That was difficult but the team and I worked a lot to achieve it. I have never been able to ride the way I wanted to so far but we eventually managed a very good setting-up and in the last ten minutes of the qualifying session I had fun and could ride my Aprilia as I pleased. We will start from the third row which is not as ahead as we should be but it proves to ourselves that we are here once again. We will run a few tests tomorrow during the warm-up but on the whole everything is in the correct order and this is what matters most. We only have to work a bit on the engine and on my riding and soon we will be further ahead. Today I managed to ride a whole lap right behind Nico and even if we have quite a few things to catch up on I think there is not much difference between us when it comes to riding bends. Today we’ll be out there to have some fun and as for the result we’ll see. I am sure if I can have fun riding my bike then things will turn out great.”
