Palmer Kling, the eleven year old rider for Four Feathers Racing’s Lucas Oil backed Youth Program, got his first taste of a full size pro track last weekend. He contested the Wera event at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The weekend was an exciting time for the humble young man as he was able to ride on the same asphalt as the many professional riders that he has been admiring for years. He took to the track like a seasoned veteran as he used each session to learn the lines and braking points that worked best for his Moriwaki MD250H, being only his third race on the new machine. Lap times continued to drop session after session as he became more comfortable on the taunting twists of the track. All of his determination and dedication paid off with another decisive victory in his 125GP event as he blasted the competition with his fastest lap of the entire weekend coming on his very last lap! “Palmer has once again made us proud, he fulfilled his only obligation to the team of having fun, just so happens he won another race in the process.” said team principal Scotty Van Hawk “I was able to discuss the track with him and offer a few pointers, but he already had it mostly figured out on his own. I have worked with many riders and Palmer is always so appreciative that it really reminds us of how much good can come from our sport.” In two weeks Palmer will be back in action in sunny Florida at Jennings to continue his smiling ways as an ambassador of his very proud 4FR Lucas Oil Youth Program.
