The JiR Team is preparing for the trip to France where on Sunday the fourth grand prix of the season will take place at the famous Le Mans circuit. The track, with recent amendments, has lost much of its old charm, but it is still a challenging course for both brakes and suspension making it a real ‘stop-go’ sort of circuit. The technicians of Gianluca Montiron’s team will devote themselves to finalize the set up of MotoBI in order to accommodate these constant negative/positive accelerations and give Alex De Angelis a high-performing machine. For its part, the rider has worked in these two weeks to get in shape after three crashes in Portugal, which however did not prevent him from making an exceptional comeback in the race. Gianluca Montiron, Team Principal “Fortunately, the Championship is still long, so at the moment seeing the rankings we do have further impetus to give our best. From one side this comes from the team in order to find the optimum set-up, from the other side the rider to be more consistent even under adverse conditions. To be at the very top should be our aim, and to be consistent and be up front with the leading group. This year, unlike last season, for various reasons in the three GP raced so far we have not been at the front. I hope Le Mans will be a positive turning point for our season. Alex De Angelis “After Estoril I used the first three or four days to recover from the falls and get back into shape. I managed to work well with an athletic training program and I’m back to 100%. I’m already focused on the Le Mans race because it is a circuit that all riders have always felt is a little over complicated, including myself. There are many accelerations and decelerations and we have to find a good set up to have as much grip and traction as possible. I hope the weather will be more favorable than in Portugal because there the rain has hampered us a lot, but we need to run as much as possible to better prepare for qualifying and the race.”
