Experience e-bike racing at close range in Schleiz on May 14th, 2011. MUENCH expects home victory in the second race of the FIM e-power championship This upcoming Saturday and for the first time in the fairly young e-bike racing history an official championship race will take place in Germany, in the Schleizer Dreieck. In line with the FIM e-Power International Championship the German MUENCH racing team from Lohfelden will compete against the world’s best e-bike teams on the Schleizer racing grounds. Next to new developments, improved techniques and storage capacity it depends on each drivers racing skills to be victorious. With TTXGP world champion Matthias Himmelmann MUENCH definitely offers an experienced racing and e-bike driver who will use and show his experience on the racing track. The 40 year old MUENCH racing expert features 20 years of experience and an incredible sense for motorbikes. Being the EURO CUP Street Fire Champion in 1999 and 2000 as well as an outstanding team player and e-bike expert he is a valuable enrichment for the MUENCH racing team. In the first race in Magny Cours he was already able to proof his abilities and dominated the practice runs resulting in the pole position for the final race. Unfortunately a technical defect occurred as Matthias Himmelmann describes: “There was nothing else for it but to disclaim victory and save the second place instead. After the race the team found out that a technical defect of the electric battery caused the lack of energy supply. We had to face the fact that in the end a bagatelle cost us our first victory of the season. On the other hand we were happy with the second place and used our gained experiences and improved our e-bike.” Furthermore it is very important for Matthias Himmelmann to provide the audience and especially the fans with a good show and a suspenseful race. “In Schleiz we will attack even stronger and I hope that our numerous German fans will be there to support us”, says Himmelmann.
