40Km of racing using less than a litre of petrol: dream and wish are reality Modena, May 3 2011. After the victory at Magny Cours by CRP Racing factory team on April 15, the rider Alessandro Brannetti (# 44) is getting ready to ride again the eCRP 1.4, the electric racing motorcycle of the Italian manufacturer based in Modena that opened the championship e-Power with a victory, kicking off the 2011 season. The appointment for the second race of the season of the FIM e-Power is scheduled for May 14 in Schleiz, Germany. It promises to be a thrilling meeting, since the eCRP 1.4 must face the German team Munch, a very strong challenger. One interesting fact has emerged from this season: the eCRP 1.4 recorded 10 seconds faster than the teams that raced on the same circuit last year, a significant factor that demonstrates the speed of the technology involved in the development of electric vehicles. Also in terms of “traditional consumption” it was possible to analyze the electric motor of eCRP 1.4 that is able to run 40 km in racing conditions with a quantity of energy on board of 8.8 kWh, equal to 0.91 liters of petrol. In other words it means that the efficiency of its electric powertrain is so high that if it were an internal combustion engine would run 40km with only 0.91 liters of petrol. According to this information, the development of green technology represents a revolution in consumption too.
