AMA Pro SuperSport racer Elena Myers crashed and broke her left arm while riding her SuperMoto RMz250 Monday afternoon at Stockton Motorplex Park, in Stockton, California. “While I was riding my SuperMoto bike out at Stockton, I had a little incident,” Myers wrote in an e-mail to Roadracingworld.com. “A new rider was trying to get off the track and cut directly in front of me without any warning. I did everything I could to stop but ended up running into the back of their bike and fell on my wrist. I was probably going about 5 mph when we made impact. My wrist was pretty sore when I got home so I went to get X-rays and it showed that I broke my radius. Luckily it will not need surgery, just a few weeks in a cast and we’ll go from there. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make the (AMA Pro) test at Miller but I’m going to do everything in my power to get healed up for the race at Infineon.” The break is non-displaced and Myers is consulting with rehab specialist Tuan Nguyen today. Myers finished second in 2010 AMA Pro SuperSport West points and after one round (at Daytona) is second in 2011 AMA Pro SuperSport West points. Last year she became the first woman in history to win an AMA Pro sprint road race when she won in SuperSport at Infineon Raceway. Myers is 17 years old and is racing a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 with sponsorship from SuzukiScoopFans, American Suzuki’s promotional Facebook page.
