SIDI VORTICE BOOTS FOR MOTOGP STAR HIROSHI AOYAMA The Japanese pilot take a makes to Sidi Italia Maser (TV), 01 March, 2011 2011 will be a very important season for Hiroshi Aoyama. This should be his comeback season. In fact, in 2010, during his MotoGP season debut, after a few good first performances, the Japanese pilot broke his back in a horrible fall during the Great Britain Gran Prix and had to take a long break. It was a very dangerous accident that could have had much more serious consequences, but with guts, determination and courage, Aoyama has managed to recuperate quite well. Aoyama, born in 1981, is surely a vastly talented rider, as testified by his 2009 World Champion title in the Moto2 class, (the old 250 cc class), which he won with 261 points and four victories, three second places and two pole positions. This year he’s embarking on a new adventure on the Honda, his motorcycle, but this time around he’ll be riding for Team Gresini, that has matched him up with Italian Marco Simoncelli. They’re a young, highly motivated pair, with two strong personalities that are always on the attack. These last few days, after a series of tests on the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, Aoyama found time to visit the Sidi Sport world headquarters in Maser (Treviso). It was the perfect occasion for Hiroshi to pose for pictures and sign the usual autographs. He also met with Sidi’s technical staff to put some finishing touches on his Vortice boots, which he’ll be wearing throughout the 2011 Moto GP season. As usual, Aoyama was witty and accessible, and he didn’t miss the chance for a guided tour of the entire company, from marketing to production, to meet, greet and thank all the people who make up Sidi Sport. “This is the first time I’ve visited Sidi – says the Japanese pilot -. It meant a lot to me to meet the Signori family and the entire Sidi Sport staff, to thank them in person for all the faith and support they’ve shown me. It was very interesting to visit the production; it’s incredible to see all the “team work” that goes in to making the boots that I wear on the track. As far as the 2011 season goes, considering the first tests, our team has gotten some positive results, even if we do still have a lot of work to do. However, I can’t wait for the Championships to begin.”
