PARIS HILTON TEAM STARTED OFF THE MOTORCYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WITH THEIR TWO PILOTS’ OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES DURING FIRST PRE-SEASON TRAINING SESSIONS Cheste, 12th February 2011. Maverick Viñales and Sergio Gadea were two of the leading figures during the first official training sessions in 2011 in the 125cc category held at Ricardo Tomo track in Cheste, Valencia since last Thursday.until today. The first of them is participating in the Motorcycling World Championship for the first time but he has proved he can make the news as he remained among the best of the category throughout the three-day session and marked the fastest time overall today. Sergio for his part has strived to regain his composure riding a 2T after he took part in Moto2 with 4T engines last year. He too was among those who stood out even though his times were not as brilliant as his team mate’s. In short this has been three days of hard work as the pilots rode for an average 60 laps a day with a very satisfying performance. 25 MAVERICK VIÑALES (1’40.180): “I have managed to adapt very quickly to the motorbike and I am very glad because I have felt very at ease throughout these three days. I have been riding with the best pilots in the world on an equal footing achieving the same times as them and feeling very comfortable in their company. The whole team has worked hard and very well and I am very pleased with this first contact -we can really get on well- and I think both mechanics and technicians know exactly what they are doing. It’s a very encouraging and positive start. If we go on like this we can become really competitive and I’d really like to compete with the best. Nevertheless it’s far too early to set goals as this is my first season at the World Championship and it’s just started.” 33 SERGIO GADEA (1’41.520): “There is a huge difference between 4Ts and 125ccs and when I rode a 125cc again it felt as though I couldn’t ride a motorbike. Anyway slowly but surely I am getting more and more used to it. Things went quite well on Thursday and Friday and even if our times weren’t very good we rode at a satisfactory pace and we ended up in the top 5. However I have found it very hard to do better today and I lagged a bit behind the leaders. My first contact with the team has been really satisfying. If we always work the way we have here I am sure we’ll be competitive and we’ll achieve the best results.”
