Michelin has posted contingency awards across the spectrum of classes set to race in the inaugural Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association (CVMA) season, with nearly $90,000 available to racers who choose Michelin. XTRM Sports Management will handle the payouts, which will be in the form of cash via debit cards. In addition, Michelin requires only six starters in a class to pay out awards back to third place. For the CVMA’s flagship race, the Chuckwalla Valley Unlimited Shootout, Michelin will pay $300 for the win. In total, Michelin has put $89,400 on the line for its racers at CVMA. Nationwide, the Team Michelin Contingency Program has posted $2.9 million in awards for racers who choose from their wide range of DOT racing tires and slicks. The Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association owned and operated by motorcycle racers and enthusiasts will host a six-round, doubleheader series in 2011 on the newest road circuit in Southern California. The 2.68-mile Ed Bargy-designed course is easily accessible from the Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Phoenix metropolitan areas and was created with motorcycle road racing in mind.
