Yamaha Factory Racing riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies took a detour to Thailand today on their way home from the official MotoGP test in Malaysia. The MotoGP stars spent the day with over 10,000 Yamaha fans in Bangkok at a special one-off brand event. Reigning World Champion Lorenzo was back in leathers again to lead a procession of Yamaha riders around a closed course whilst team-mate Spies dropped the flag to signal the start for over 600 Yamaha riders who rode in convoy with police escort through the streets of the city to the event. Both riders took to the stage and were greeted by Chief Executive Officer of Thai Yamaha Motor Co., LTD. Fumiaki Nagashima and Head of Big Bike Division Thai Yamaha Motor Co., LTD. Thanachai Lekavanichkul before taking part in interviews and then signing autographs for the many fans. Spies will now return to Texas and Lorenzo to Spain for some time off before they return to Malaysia for the second Sepang test on the 22nd February.
