All New Graves Motorsports WORKS Sport Bike Forum is the Cutting Edge of Motorcycle Racing’s Future Kennesaw, Georgia (January 13, 2011) In a continued effort to offer first class support and product awareness to our clients, race teams and performance shops, Graves Motorsports announces the release of an all new online resource forum www.gravesport.com/forum/. The focus and goal of the Graves WORKS forum is to offer an advanced portal for support and feedback based not only on the Championship winning Graves Yamaha R1 and R6 branded products but to also give users access to Graves Motorsports’ and Team Graves Yamahas’ world class race technicians and riders. Shane McCoy, VP of Media & Technologies at Graves Motorsports and creator of the new WORKS forum offered insight into the project saying, “This is a great way to catalog technical sportbike knowledge and give riders and organizations feedback from one comprehensive place. Logging this information for future use and allowing riders to add feedback in the forums has exploded in the short time the forum has been live, and we expect even bigger and better things in the future. The advanced technical knowledge that the everyday rider wouldn’t typically know about can be critiqued and posted out in the open! This is invaluable for a track rider.” The forum offers shop reviews, technical data input and even some off-topic subjects like Graves Yamaha rider Tommy Aquino wanting feedback on what racing number to run in 2011! As an added bonus, Graves Motorsports is offering teams and riders directly supported through a Graves Motorsports program (and riding a Yamaha R1 or R6 Sport bike) a more personalized forum area. This personalized section houses press announcements from that specific team or rider and also includes a private and direct path for team support from Graves Motorsports. Two years ago team and company owner Chuck Graves saw the need for this type of forum and began laying the groundwork to bring it into fruition. “This forum has been in the making since early 2008 when AMA Pro Racing announced their intentions of creating racing platforms with reduced costs and improved parity through tighter rules, spec tires, spec fuels and by expanding the list of homologated racing parts,” said Graves, “Graves Motorsports upped the pace by listing every racing part used to win our AMA championship with Ben Bostrom aboard the Yamaha R6 that year. “In addition to the racing parts, we added all of the Yamaha racing kit parts (YEC) and all the Pit Stop supplies and parts needed to compete in the Daytona 200 (for those competing on a Yamaha R6),” continued Graves, “This was a big hit with the teams and racers! We were then in a position to sell a Daytona 200 winning, Graves spec Yamaha R6 for just over $40,000.00 (bringing the machine from the realm of untouchable to within reach of privateers’ pocketbooks).” In late 2009 privateer teams began to see the benefits and results of this program. By the end of 2009 two privateer teams had signed up for full support programs. The teams that took full advantage of the support programs were rewarded with multiple National Championships and podium finishes. “Up to this point our advanced team interactions, support and management has been through more traditional outlets. Those methods have been highly successful and have given us the foundation to develop them into these streamlined online tools. This sets the stage for Graves Motorsports to service multiple Yamaha mounted teams from a single, secure place. Opening a whole new dimension of resources to our teams, technicians, riders and crew chiefs has been my goal in this project,” said Graves, “The WORKS forum is the start-to-finish solution. The addition of a public forum on the Gravesport.com site is the latest evolution not only of the Graves support program, but also for future of our sport in general.” Graves’ vision for the future of the forum is that it be used by Graves and Yamaha supported teams and youth racers and potential Graves supported riders and teams to interact with Graves Motorsports and to solicit sponsorships and support. So for all you aspiring racers, get on the WORKS forum! The more information and participation on the site, the better! 2011 promises to be an exciting year for Yamaha and Graves Motorsports!
