Former Australian Superbike Champion Josh Waters, age 23, is entered to race in the 2011 Superbike World Championship season-opener February 25-27 at Phillip Island for Yoshimura Suzuki out of Japan, according to the official Superbike World Championship website, www.worldsbk.com. Waters, who won the Australian Superbike Championship as a rookie in 2009, was slated to ride in place of injured Blake Young for Yoshimura’s Rockstar Makita Suzuki AMA Pro Superbike team last season, but Waters suffered a high-speed crash while testing July 7 at Willow Springs International Raceway and suffered several injuries, including a severe concussion that caused him to miss nearly all of the remaining 2010 season.
