Team Honda Racing is pleased to announce that their riders for the 2011 season of the Australian Superbike Championship will be #27 Jamie Stauffer and #47 Wayne Maxwell. The 2011 season is gearing up to be a strong one for the freshly designed team as they move forward on the CBR1000RR with two very strong competitors in the Australian field. Maxwell is no stranger to the team, having raced for Paul Free in the 2008 and 2009 Australian Championships. In 2009 he finished the season 3rd in the Superbike category. With the fresh guise of the new Team Honda Racing, Maxwell will no doubt be looking to claim the title he has come so close to winning for the past 2 years. Third in 2009, and 2nd in 2010, Maxwell is as determined as any rider could be to claim the number one plate in 2011. #47 Wayne Maxwell: “I am really excited to join Team Honda Racing and their partners for the 2011 ASBK Championship. This will be my 3rd season under the management of the Motologic-based team and I look forward to being part of a very competitive factory-backed Honda team. Having a multiple Australian Champion as my team mate is an honour and a great bench mark for me. The Honda CBR1000RR is a great bike finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 2010 and it would be fantastic to give Honda back-to-back Championships by taking out the 2011 title.” Every bit as determined as Maxwell to win the championship next season is #27 Jamie Stauffer. Stauffer is a multiple Australian Champion in both the Supersport and Superbike Categories and the move onto the Honda brand is one that he is definitely excited about. Stauffer raced with the Ducati Motologic Racing team in 2010 showing his versatility by riding a Vtwin. Moving forward with the team as they return to the Honda brand gives Stauffer fresh motivation and determination. #27 Jamie Stauffer: “I`m really looking forward to riding for Team Honda Racing in 2011. It was good to work with Paul and everyone from Motologic in 2010 and to be working with the guys again is fantastic. To get this opportunity with Honda and Motologic is very exciting. The CBR1000RR is a fantastic motorbike and with Motologic preparing the bikes I know I will have a great motorcycle to compete for the championship title and I can be sure that we will be competitive from the first time we roll the Honda onto the track.” The man behind the team, Team Principle Paul Free is every bit as excited about the season ahead as his riders. Paul Free: “To be back on the Honda brand with a fresh team in Team Honda Racing and two of the best riders in the country is very exciting. Jamie and Wayne are going to be extremely competitive; I can’t say for sure who wants the title more! The preparation for the new season is well and truly underway and with the experience that both these riders possess there is every reason to believe that the Team Honda Racing CBR1000RR will be seen at the front of the field from the get go.” General Manager of Motorcycles at Honda MPE, Tony Hinton couldn’t agree more: “Honda Aust is pleased to have Wayne and Jamie onboard with us for 2011. Wayne has shown throughout 2009 and 2010 that he is a fierce competitor and I’m sure that he is looking to convert his runner-up position into a Championship win in 2011. Jamie over the years has shown his skill on the race track by winning multiple championships; his capabilities no more evident than in 2010 where he switched to a Vtwin and his competitive nature shone through again. All of us at Honda Aust are looking forward to success in 2011. We have a competitive bike, a competitive Team in Team Honda Racing and a strong rider line-up with Jamie and Wayne. We can’t wait for 2011!”
