Year in and year out, Brembo seems to always be the choice of Champions! And 2010 was no different as Brembo-equipped teams dominated on two and four wheels. While Brembo is proud to have been involved with Ferrari for 14 of its F1 championships, the company is very pleased to have assisted Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull in achieving their first Formula One Drivers’ and Constructors’ championships this year. In fact, the top three drivers were racing (and braking) with Brembo Racing. Brembo’s dominance in racing was not reserved for four-wheel vehicles in 2010 as Brembo- equipped bikes won every race in two series this season. Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo was crowned MotoGP Champion for the first time and Josh Hayes of Yamaha was crowned American Superbike Champion, also for the first time. Also, Max Biaggi rode his Brembo- equipped Aprilia to his first World Superbike championship. In fact, Brembo hasn’t lost a MotoGP championship since 1994 that’s 20 champions in the past 23 seasons. In 2010, Brembo won its tenth overall victory in eleven years at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the #9 Audi RD15 driven by Bernhard, Dumas and Rockenfeller topped the podium. Brembo teams also won in GT1 (#50 Larbre Saleen S7R) and GT2 (#77 Felbermayr Porsche) at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Eight other sports car teams equipped with Brembo Racing high-performance brakes were crowned champions in 2010, including victory in the Intercontinental Le Mans Series (ILMS) and the FIA GT Series. Peugeot’s Stephane Sarrazin earned the most points in the three-race ILMS championship, while Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini won the inaugural FIA GT championship in their #1 Vitaphone Maserati MC12. Also across the pond, Brembo-equipped teams swept all four classes in the Le Mans Endurance Series winning LMP1 (#4 Team Oreca Peugeot), LMP2 (#25 RML Lola), GT1 (#50 Larbre Saleen) and GT2 (#77 Felbermayr Porsche). Brembo claimed two classes in the Speed World Challenge with Randy Pobst driving his #6 K-Pax Racing Volvo S60 to the GT championship while the GTS crown was won by Peter Cunningham in his #43 RealTime Racing Acura TSX.
