The motorcycle community rallied together to raise $10,000 for trackside medical service, Suzuki RACESAFE at last week’s Viking Group Australian Superbike Championship Awards Evening at Crown Palladium in Melbourne. Riders added their autographs to 20 AGV helmets which were featured in a silent auction. The generosity and goodwill of those present will ensure RACESAFE’s presence at 2011 Australian Superbike Championship events, ensuring peace of mind for riders competing at the highest level. “Suzuki RACESAFE is very thankful for this generous contribution,” said RACESAFE Director of Emergency Services Simon Maas. “Without the support of the ASBK paddock and the industry, we simply wouldn’t be able to make it to the track to provide this critical service. “We’re proud to be involved with IEG, they are extremely dedicated to this sport and we’re pleased to be able to work with them to ensure the ASBK rounds are the safest in road racing. “2011 is shaping up to be a very exciting championship, and this contribution will ensure we’re trackside for every event, and accessible to every rider.” Ten helmets were donated by Monza Imports, and Managing Director John Chiodo was pleased to be able to contribute to cause. “Monza Imports has always supported motorcycle racing in Australia for many years, from grassroots level to the premier classes of competition,” said Chiodo. “RACESAFE provides an vital service to riders and we are proud to offer this donation to assist the team to be trackside in 2011.” A further ten helmets were donated by the International Entertainment Group (IEG). “RACESAFE is staffed by a dedicated group of people who are passionate about providing the best quality medical care and support to our riders,” said IEG Managing Director Yarrive Konsky. “Without them we could not go racing, and hope that this contribution proves valuable.” Those wishing to support RACESAFE further can do so by contacing Simon Maas on 0419 885 562.
