Dealer Expo COMMITS To Stay in Indianapolis through 2016 NEWLY EXPANDED INDIANACONVENTION CENTER TO PROVIDE ENHANCED NEW EXPERIENCE IRVINE, Calif. (November 17, 2010) Advanstar Communications Inc., primary stakeholder in the Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo, has confirmed that the world’s largest powersports trade show Dealer Expo has committed to a multi-year agreement to hold the Dealer Expo at the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center through February 2016. The city of Indianapolis has recently made a substantial investment to support convention and visitor traffic, including a significant revitalization and expansion of downtown that will provide many improved benefits for the thousands of powersports dealers, distributors and manufacturers who descend on the city every February for the annual event. Specifically, the city just completed an expansion and enhancement of IndianaConvention Center which allows the 2011 Dealer Expo to be presented in one contiguous space greatly improving show navigation and efficiency for both attendees and exhibitors. Several new downtown hotels are now open adding more hotel rooms, ensuring that all who attend Dealer Expo will be able to secure premium and affordable lodging within walking distance of the convention center, and the downtown skywalk system has been expanded allowing more attendees to venture between hotels and the show in heated comfort. “Advanstar Communications research conducted in 2009 concluded that the majority of dealer buyers across the country wanted the show to stay in Indianapolis based on the central location and convenience to attend,” said Advanstar Communications Executive Vice President Danny Phillips. “Now, with nearly 4000 hotel rooms, and 250 restaurants and clubs within walking distance to the convention center, Indy in February will be THE annual marketplace for the powersports industry to do business.” Dealer Expo 2011 will be held in the newly expanded IndianaConvention Center with new dates — Friday, February 18 through Sunday, February 20, 2011. The expansion of the convention center means Dealer Expo now has more than 400,000 square feet to implement a significantly improved attendee experience for dealers 1) organizing all of the exhibit space by product and lifestyle “marketplaces” to ensure a more streamlined and efficient buying experience, 2) launching a substantial business education and seminar program to help dealers grow their businesses, and 3) building a set of exciting new show features that will allow exhibitors to interact more directly with their customers. Eleven distinct marketplaces will anchor the show, corralling exhibits for off-road, apparel & gear, helmets, racing & performance, tire & wheel, parts & maintenance, tools & equipment, scooters, business services, electronics, vehicle, and international pavilions. Select marketplaces will host their own destination events, including Fashion Forward Fashion Shows in apparel & gear, the Off-Road Cantina — a place to grab a beverage, reconnect with colleagues, and check out extreme racing videos, The Shop, featuring expert presentations on new products, an Auction House for live used bike auctions in vehicles, and hospitality offerings such as free Internet, and more. The Dealer Expo’s new “Dealernews Learning Experience” seminars and roundtable discussions will provide free business education, interaction and training for dealer managers, sales personnel, service managers, marketers and merchandisers, rounding out the educational offerings for attendees. “Dealer Expo has been a faithful and cooperative partner to the Indiana Convention and Visitors Association and the entire Indianapolis hospitality industry since 1998,” said ICVA President and CEO Don Welsh.
