Pat Clark Racing Reaffirms Its Gratitude to Yamaha and Ben Bostrom While Denouncing Reports of Parts Being “Taken Back” 2010 has been both an amazing and challenging year for Pat Clark Motorsports. As the season progressed, the team’s determination to be a top competitor became more and more apparent. In July, Ben Bostrom took first place at Laguna Seca, but was injured shortly thereafter at the New Jersey Motorsports Park on Labor Day. At that time, 10th ranked teammate Chris Clark was gathering steam and veteran rider Jake Holden was brought onboard to ride in place of Bostrom. Holden finished 7th at Barber. Looking to 2011, Bostrom will not return to Pat Clark Racing but the team is very grateful to him for the tremendous contributions he has made. Team Manager Ron Heben believes Bostrom’s influence on the team will remain evident in 2011. He says, “Ben brought a level of professionalism and determination to the team that is now strongly embedded in everything we do. We deeply appreciate the contribution he has made and believe his influence will be evident in the next season.” The Pat Clark Racing Team is exploring a number of opportunities for 2011 and is concerned about some misinformation that recently surfaced. “Anytime you make changes, speculation begins and misinformation tends to make the rounds,” remarks Heben. Recently, a story circulated stating that Yamaha, Pat Clark Racing’s 2010 sponsor, had taken back some performance parts after the Laguna Seca win. Heben is quick to denounce that story. “Yamaha has always supported our team in every way. To the best of our knowledge, no one ever took any parts back once they were proven reliable. The comment about Yamaha taking such an action after our win at Laguna Seca is simply untrue and we have had nothing short of an outstanding relationship with Yamaha throughout the entire season. Like most teams, we think it is important to consider all of our options carefully during the off-season, but we are very appreciative of the support we received from Yamaha in 2010.” While a number of decisions are still left to be made, there is little doubt that the Pat Clark team is determined to be a force to be reckoned with in 2011.
