Halifax, Nova Scotia’s up and coming amateur road racer Charlie Legere was involved in a motorcycle accident on September 6, 2010. Legere started road racing at Atlantic Motorsport Park (AMP) two years ago and has become the main amateur influence in road racing in Atlantic Canada with podium finishes in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship series at Atlantic Motorsport Park. Not only has Legere proven himself to be an amazing Canadian national contender, he also had enough points accumulated locally to wrap up the Amateur Road Racing championship and also the 600 championship without even competing in the final round at Atlantic Motorsport Park. Legere is now in a local Halifax hospital with injuries to his spinal cord and is in rehabilitation to try and install use in his legs again. Partial movement in his arms has been restored and Legere is in great spirits and is staying very positive towards the future. There has been a paypal link set up at www.atlanticroadracing.com, with 100% of all of the proceeds going to help the Legere family pay the bills and to help Charlie fight back. Atlantic Motorsport Park and Atlantic Roadracing League have set up a track day on October 3 with all of the proceeds going to the Legere family. Also there has been a charity auction set up with amazing prizes to bid on at Kokomos restaurant on Saturday, October 16 and once again all of the proceeds will be going to the Legere family. There has been a lot of help and support through friends and the family wants to thank everyone for all of their help and support.
