Hacienda Harley-Davidson Welcomes Jared Mees #1 – 2009 AMA Pro Twins Grand National Champion SCOTTSDALE, AZ (October 6, 2010) – As teams begin to arrive for this Saturday’s AMA Pro K&N Filters Grand National Championship presented by Motorcycle-Superstore.com Finals to be held October 9th, 2010 at Yavapai Downs in Prescott Valley, AZ riders will make their PR appearances. Jared Mees, 2009 AMA Pro Twins Grand National Champion competes on a Harley-Davidson XR750 and will be at Hacienda Harley-Davidson in Scottsdale, AZ on Thursday from 2pm-4pm signing autographs and answering questions as he prepares to tackle the ultra fast 1 mile dirt track where motorcycles reach speeds over 120mph. Mees started racing when he was six years old on a Yamaha PW 50. Growing up through the amateur ranks he rode just about every size motorcycle while winning the 2001 AMA Horizon Award. In 2002, Mees turned Pro Sport and won the Harley-Davidson Sportster performance championship. Last year Mees jumped to the top of his sport clinching the AMA Number One Plate and Grand National Championship Title in Pomona, CA at the season’s grand finale. AMA Pro Racing sanctions many racing series, but the oldest and most traditional is dirt track which primarily takes place on sprint car and horse tracks. The Grand National Championship series dates back to 1954 and is the uniquely American form of motorcycle racing often called the most thrilling spectacles in motorsports.
