John Hopkins, AMA Pro Superbike Racer – M4 Monster Energy Suzuki Hopkins is back and ready to fight for the win in AMA Superbike racing. At the final round of the 2010 AMA National Guard Superbike Series, John Hopkins was battling for the win but had to settle for second to Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Blake Young. He scored podium finishes in each of the final three rounds of the 2010 racing season and placed tenth overall despite missing at least four race weekends in the season. Hopefully we will get to see more of the former MotoGP racer at the start of the 2011 season to go for the championship. www.johnhopkins21.com Martin Cardenas, AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike Racer – M4 Monster Energy Suzuki Cardenas finished the AMA Pro Road Racing Series strong with two victories securing his first AMA Daytona Sportbike title. He arrived at Barber Motorsports Park in a three-way battle with Danny Eslick and Josh Herrin for the championship. Cardenas put his head down and did what had to be done to secure the title. Throughout his racing career in AMA Pro Racing, Cardenas has proven time and again that he has what it takes to be a champion and now he has the title to prove it. www.teamhammer.com Brad Simpson, Las Vegas Police (Lt.) Retired – PORK Police Officers Riding for Kids PORK is a Las Vegas based charity that provides support for children charities in Las Vegas. Going into the final moto USA was trailing Germany but an outstanding finish of 1st and 2nd by Ryan Dungey and Andrew Short secured the top position. This is USA’s 21st victory at the Motocross of Nations and their 6th in a row, an impressive record. This year Short became known for his solid holeshots and this weekend was no exception. He started the final race with a nice lead and eventually let Dungey by to finish 2nd. This was the 64th year of the Motocross of Nations. www.andrewshort.com Chip Yates, AMA and FIM rider, Owner and Chief Designer, Swigz.com Pro Racing USA 2009 was Yate’s first Pro AMA season in Road Racing following a strong showing in the WERA and AFM as an amateur in the U.S. He also is an engineer with an MBA from USC. He currently is developing an all new motorcycle that has been dubbed “The world’s most powerful electric superbike” and also “The world’s most technically advanced electric superbike”. He and his staff have claims of over 300ft/lbs of torque that revs to 8000 RPM’s with 194 horsepower. Yates describes the power delivery of this motorcycle as “vicious”. He has taken a leave of absence from racing to finish developing the bike which he started in January of 2010.
