The scheduled start of AMA Pro road racing practice was delayed Sunday morning at Barber Motorsports Park due to lightning, according to Race Director David McGrath. Practice was scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. local time, but practice will now start at 9:00 a.m. McGrath told competitors at an impromptu rider’s meeting that some of the “extracurricular activities,” like the Fan Parade Lap, have been cancelled, resulting in more practice time. Barber Motorsports Park is a track that AMA Pro races on in wet conditions, but McGrath told competitors that he would be monitoring their feedback during practice to determine “how much rain the track can sustain.”
