FIM e-Power International Championship final in Imola Thijs de Ridder (Crystalyte Europe) dominates free practice In competition for the first title of FIM e-Power International Champion, the Belgian Thijs de Ridder has been quite dominant in today’s free practice in Imola, the final round of the new championship open to electric powered motorcycles. He ran his best lap in 2’34 .996 ahead of the German Matthias Himmelmann on Munch 2 and especially ahead of the Italian Thomas Betti on Torpedine Evo, current leader of the championship. Thirteen points only separate Betti and de Ridder. In case of victory by Thijs de Ridder, Thomas Betti should not end beyond the fourth to take the title E-Power 2010. After a very rainy night, the weekend looks more sunny. Good news for competitors in the FIM e-Power International Championship. If they say that the humidity does not affect the running of their motorcycles, they also admit their lack of experience in the rain. The qualifications are held in late afternoon and the start of the race will be given on Sunday at 14 pm 30 for six laps (approximately 30 km) just before the second round of the FIM Superbike World Championship.
