Isle of Man TT Record Holder Maria Costello To Race With AHRMA At Barber Motorsports Park Maria Costello, who held the lap record as fastest woman at the Isle of Man for 5 years, from 2004 to 2009, is making her way across the Atlantic for her American racing début at the Barber Vintage Festival, October 8, 9, and 10, 2010. She will be campaigning Jamie Waters’s 1964 Works Dunstall Norton Lowboy 500cc Twin in AHRMA’s coveted 500 Premier class. As if the TT record weren’t enough, the Northampton racer took the female lap record in the Supersport class at the McKinstry Ulster Grand Prix this past August, when she lapped at an average speed of 114.328 mph on her Yamaha R6. To balance it all out, she spent last weekend competing in the Barry Sheene Cup at the Goodwood Revival on a 1960s BSA Goldstar. AHRMA’s program at the 6th Annual Barber Vintage Festival, the last racing weekend of 2010, is shaping up to be the ultimate finale to an already exciting season, with several championships still on the line. Bikes, ranging from pre-war hand-shift Harleys and Indians to eighties-era Superbikes, will be raced during the two-day program. Also on the schedule is vintage and post-vintage motorcross, Trials, & Cross-Country, as well as an extensive swap meet and midday air show.
