Johann ZARCO, France (APRILIA), 2:09.773 More, from a press release issued by Interwetten Honda: Tenth position for Schrötter in 2nd free practice Marcel Schrötter finished the first free practice for the inaugural Grand Prix at Aragón today on 18th position, but was able to improve in the second and very wet free practice to end on 10th position. The rain didn’t help the 17 year old from Bavaria, but seemed to suit him, as despite a crash in the second free practice he was able to improve his time. Team Manager Terrell Thien is sure that there is more to be seen from Schrötter and hopes that the qualifying tomorrow stays dry to get an optimal preparation for Sunday’s race. Although the weather forecast does promise even more water from the sky for tomorrow. Marcel Schrötter, 10 2’16.282 (FP2): “Unfortunately it was raining in the second free practice. At the end the rain was so heavy that you partly didn’t see anything and this made it really difficult. Then I crashed, but was able to rejoin the race and even improve my time. I didn’t see any times on my pit board, only my position, so I didn’t really know where I was regarding the lap times. In the rain you have to ride slower, but I am quite satisfied with the 10th position of the second free practice.” Terrell Thien, Team Manager: “Finally Marcel reached the Top 10. The conditions were not easy to handle and Marcel crashed out, but he was okay and the bike as well, so he could continue and even improve. I am happy with the second free practice, as I could see that he still has reserves.”
