FIRST PERSON/OPINION Via e-mail: My name is Jim White and I am writing to you because my brother was the recipient of Jamie Bowman’s heart that fatal day 10 years ago. I have been reading all of the great accomplishments Jamie had done with his last win at Loudon, and many many more. I am not writing this with any intent to offend his family. That day Jamie became a hero to our family–he lost his life and in return saved the life of a 15-year-old boy, my brother, who could have died that same day as well. Had Jamie not been an organ donor, we would have lost my brother, too. Jamie gave my brother Jason 10 years of life (so far), a marriage to his perfect match and three beautiful children. Jason is a great guy, he would give a stranger the shirt off of his back. So as I said before, Jamie is a hero and obviously a true champion. I wish I had no reason to be writing this e-mail but I thought people might like to know that Jamie’s death was not in vain. He will always be loved by our family. I am very sorry for the loss of life his family experienced. Respectfully, Jim White Bullhead City, Arizona
