International Entertainment Group, promoter of the Viking Australian Superbike Championship, has teamed up with official series supplier Dunlop to provide an additional rear slick tyre for each of the 8 riders contesting tomorrow’s Motul Superpole event at Phillip Island. IEG has purchased the new tyres at special rate from Dunlop to enable every rider to showcase their best on a flying lap of the 4.45km Grand Prix Circuit. Yarrive Konsky, Managing Director of International Entertainment Group and ASBK promoter, said the move was made following feedback from riders and thanked Dunlop for their cooperation. “The purchase and supply of a new slick rear tyre for riders contesting Superpole will ensure every rider an equal opportunity at setting the quickest time,” explained Konsky. “We take all feedback into consideration and are appreciative of Dunlop’s efforts to secure a special rate. “The L&H 500 event offers us a significant opportunity to bring bike racing to big crowds, both at the track and on live television, and we are certain that four-wheel fans will come away with a new admiration for our riders.” Motul Superpole will take place from 11.00am tomorrow (Saturday), followed by race 1 at 1.35pm. A second race will follow at 11.30am on Sunday.
