BMW BMP Elf 99 takes Superpole at Bol d’Or ahead of SERT and GSR Kawasaki The BMW of team BMP Elf 99 put the hammer down on the competition since the beginning of the Bol d’Or qualification sessions at Magny Cours. On the S1000RR, Sébastien Gimbert, Erwan Nigon and Matthieu Lagrive won all the qualifying sessions. Matthieu Lagrive took the Superpole this afternoon with a 1’40.513 best lap. BMW BMP Elf 99 leads the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team. Despite a small crash in Superpole 1, Vincent Philippe managed to take the second place with a 1’41.000 lap. In the last run, in Superpole 3, Gregory Leblanc on the GSR Kawasaki (1’41.910) chased Hugo Marchand and the Honda Michelin Power Research Team from the third place on the starting grid. The Qatar Endurance Racing Team is the best Superstock bike, since Anthony Delhalle placed them on fifth position. Yamaha Austria will start from sixth, ahead of National Motos and the Suzuki Junior Team LMS, who lost its chance of a better start as Lucas de Carolis suffered from a minor crash in Superpole 3. The Yamaha France GMT 94 Ipone could not go further than Superpole 2. They were riding on race tyres, which is, for now, the combination that suits the best the Yamaha 94. David Checa took the ninth place in Superpole 2. In the same session, Patric Muff also suffered from a small crash on the Kawasaki Bolliger Switzerland. The Metiss, the only Open machine that entered the Superpole, could not go beyond Superpole 1 and took the eighteenth place on the starting grid. The start of the 74th Bol d’Or is scheduled tomorrow Saturday at 3 pm. To follow the race live, log onto www.fim-live.com/fr/sport/endurance and www.orion-timing.com/0011/20100909
