FIM Superbike & Supersport World Championships FIM Superstock Cup – Changes to the Regulations – The Superbike Commission, composed of Mr Paolo Flammini (IMS), Claude Danis (FIM) and Giulio Bardi (Team representative) in the presence of FIM President Vito Ippolito, during a meeting held on 31 July in Silverstone, unanimously decided to introduce the following modifications to the Road Racing Superbike & Supersport World Championships and FIM Superstock Cup regulations. Application 2011 Sporting regulations The maximum age for Superstock riders is 26 years. The first free practices will be organized on Friday morning. Superbike teams may present for technical control a maximum of two (2) motorcycles per rider, for each event. Supersport and Superstock teams may present for technical control a maximum of one (1) motorcycle plus one (1) spare engine per rider, for each event. Technical regulations Superbike The minimum weight of all motorcycles (165 or 166 or 167kg) will be announced by the end of September. The minimum weight adjustment system will be modified accordingly. The method of cam drive (chain, belt or gears) must remain as on the homologated motorcycle unless a complete kit is available through normal commercial channels. Only one front wheel rim width is allowed: 3.50in. Supersport The minimum weight of all motorcycles (161 or 162 or 163kg) will be announced by the end of September. The material of the fairing may be changed, but the use of carbon fibre is not allowed. Reinforcements in Kevlar® or carbon fibre are allowed around holes and other stressed areas. Superstock All engine gaskets may be changed. The material of the fairing may be changed, but the use of carbon fibre is not allowed. Reinforcement in Kevlar® or carbon fibre are allowed around holes and other stressed areas.
