WMRRA #1 Plate Holder Eli Edwards Breaks Track Record, Headed To Laguna This Weeekend. On Saturday in WMRRA’s Bell Helmets Open Supersport, Eli Edwards on his SpeedDealer/WOW Baking Company, Dunlop shod Yamaha R1 broke the Spokane Raceways overall track record twice during the race, leaving the new record at 1:25.912, besting the previous record held by himself of 1:25.975. Eli went on to win the race by 2.651 seconds. On Sunday in WMRRA’s premier class, Performance Coatings Formula Ultra, Eli Edwards, aboard his SpeedDealer/WOW Baking Company, Dunlop shod Yamaha R1 and Ross DeLong on his HDFFC, Dunlop shod Suzuki GSXR1000 had an epic battle. Draft passing into T1, inside passes into T4, it was a back and forth battle which resulted in Ross and Eli breaking the track record multiple times, until Eli put down an amazing lap of 1:25:548, besting the previous record by 4 tenths of a second! Ross attempted to draft by Eli at the line but fell short by .038 of a second! In addition, Eli Edwards also broke the 600 class track record in KFG Racing 600 Supersport on his SpeedDealer/WOW Baking Company, Dunlop shod Yamaha R6 with a 1:27.483, besting the previous record held by Aaron Gwin of 1:28.156. Ross DeLong also set a new 750 class track record in the R-Tech Fuel/Ricci Motorsports 750 Superbike class, aboard a borrowed Dunlop shod Suzuki GSX-R750, of 1:27.613. This topped the old record of 1:27.799, held by himself. Eli Edwards is headed to Laguna Seca this weekend for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, where he will be competing on his SpeedDealer/WOW Baking Company Yamaha R6 in the Daytona SportBike class. Eli is looking to improve on his 9th place finish he accomplished during the AMA MotoJam event at Infineon Raceway.
