Reno, Nevada — A new motorcycle club has scheduled two motorcycle track days, August 7 and 8, at Reno-Fernley Racetrack. The growing northern Nevada club, Sportbike775, welcomes track riders of all abilities to the twisting 3.0 mile road course in Fernley. Each track day will use the familiar three-group format, dividing riders into A, B, and C groups based on their ability to lap the course quickly and safely. “I’m excited to be able to offer local motorcyclists the chance to ride the wheels off their bikes without endangering themselves and risking expensive traffic tickets riding mountain roads,” said Alan Cunningham, AFM racer and one of five elected officers of the new club. Track-worthy riding gear and a motorcycle in good condition are required. Complete information is available at www.sportbike775.com. Free instruction is available from ARC Trackademics, including racer Cory Call, current American Federation of Motorcyclists #1 plate holder. Their mission is to help riders of all levels reach their goals quickly, safely and with huge smiles. “This is the first time a local club is able to offer this level of professional instruction at a track day” said Sportbike775’s event planner, Gregory Olson(AFM#911), “It’s a great opportunity to get free instruction from a top racer.” Cory Call will also be hosting a free video clinic, projecting the days riding onto the ‘big screen’ after sunset on Saturday, August 7th. The club does not provide its own riding instruction but will have safety monitors on the track in each session. Riders unfamiliar with Reno-Fernley Racetrack’s many turns are encouraged to ask for a “tow” from a monitor to help learn the track. Sportbike775 safety monitors include current and former motorcycle roadracers and track day veterans who have lapped the Reno-Fernley track for thousands of miles. Experienced motorcyclists who have never ridden on a track before can “Try The Track” for a few laps for free at lunch time with Sportbike775’s slow, guided tour. Photography and video services are provided by 4theRiders.com. Tire services are provided by 2Wheel Custom Performance, offering Pirelli street and track tires at competitive prices. Suspension setup and tuning is offered by JPH suspension. Sportbike775 is a non-profit club formed in June 2010, with members from Cold Springs to Gardnerville. Club members are volunteering their time to provide a safe and enjoyable track experience for the riders, and have done so in the past under the auspices of another organization. Reno Fernley Racetrack, located on highway 95A, five miles from interstate 80, provides a safe riding and learning environment for motorcyclists. Under new management, it is staffed by experienced turn workers and the wide track includes ample run-off room. ARC Trackademics provides accelerated coaching which bridges the gap between expensive superbike schools and regular track day instruction. ARC Trackademics is for riders of all levels with a system designed specifically for the A,B,C track day format. ARC Trackademics is owned and managed by current American Federation of Motorcyclists #1 plate holder Cory Call.
