Kern turned a number of very fast laps aboard his BMW Motorcycles of Atlanta entry during the 25-minute GTO race on Saturday morning, culminating with a CCS lap record of 1:11.282. Kern backed up the win in the GTO with another in Unlimited SuperSport. Kern is a CCS and ASRA National Champion currently holding CCS lap records at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Barber Motorsports Park, VIR & Daytona. Kern is BMW Motorad’s U.S. Ambassador for the BMW S 1000 RR and is tasked with promoting the model by providing training and supporting events related to promotion of the S 1000 RR in the U.S. motorcycle market. The Championship Cup Series is the largest amateur motorcycle road racing organization in the United States with 4,000 licensed riders.
