The D-Store San Francisco is excited to host an afternoon with Moto GP star Marco Simoncelli, on Wednesday, July 21st, before his US debut at Laguna Seca Mazda Raceway. The 2008 250cc World champion will be available for autographs and photos from 4 – 6pm at the Dainese D-Store at 131 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco. 23-year-old Italian, Simoncelli enters his first season in MotoGP having won 12 250cc races in his last 2 seasons in the class and with the 2008 title in his trophy cabinet. Racing for San Carlo Honda Gresini in an all Italian line up with Marco Melandri , he is tipped to be a strong contender for Rookie of the Year. Simoncelli won his first 125cc race in Jerez 2004 before making the jump to 250s soon after in 2006 before he stole the headlines in 2008 and 2009. Sponsored by both Dainese and AGV, Simoncelli wears head to toe protection by the Italian companies and is influential with the many safety advances made by both manufacturers including the soon to be released D-Air®system racing suit. The D-Store San Francisco is Dainese’s flagship store in Northern California. One of only 2 D-Stores in the US and the largest showroom in the world, the D-Store San Francisco carries the complete collection of Dainese motorcycle, ski, and bicycle apparel and protections, as well as the complete line of AGV helmets made for the US market.
