Jason Farrell Scores at Hat-trick in Michelin Pro at Road America Elkhart Lake, WI With near perfect conditions for racing at Road America, Jason Farrell took the ASRA Hat-Trick by winning three of the four Michelin Pro Series sprints at the historic facility. With wins in SportBike, SuperStock and SuperBike, Farrell joins an elite group of riders who can claim the near perfect day in Michelin Pro Racing. First, Farrell took the SuperStock win on a Kawasaki 1000 with Joel Spalding second on his KTM RC8R and Brian Boyd from Middleton, WI third on a Suzuki 1000. With the first win accomplished, Farrell started to look forward to the next event, Michelin Pro SportBike. Farrell got an excellent start from he front row and pulled out an early lead over Dan Ortega aboard his Yamaha R6. The delight for fans was watching Prieto Racing’s young Stefano Mesa charge from the back of the grid to third in two laps as the young racer set off after the race leaders. As soon as Ortega was aware of Mesa’s charge he was having none of the young gun’s exuberance and opened a gap he was able to maintain to the checkered flag. Ortega out of Naperville, IL landed the runner-up slot on his Yamaha R6. Third on the podium was Mesa from Boca Raton, FL aboard the Prieto Yamaha R6. Dave Ebben and Mauricio Roque rounded out the top five. Ebben aboard his Kawasaki and Roque on another R6. In the final dominating win of the day for Farrell, Michelin Pro SuperBike, it was Mauricio Roque of Hollywood, FL who trailed Ferrell to a second place finish by 38 seconds. The Michelin Pro ThunderBike event saw Jay Smith of Machesney Park, IL. take his Buell XB12 to victory over his buddy Joel Spalding, Smith taking home his first ever trophy cup in an ASRA sanctioned ThunderBike race. Spalding was second on his Ducati 748 and Glen Carnell from ELBURN, IL was third on another Buell XB12.
