Team Principal John Wild said this about this upcoming weekend at Road America, “I am not fast or consistent enough to push the bike and discover its abilities and shortcomings. At Infineon we learned that we needed a faster rider. For Road America we have one. I can’t wait to see what the bike can do.” Sean Ewing(Team Electrical Engineer) “John was the only builder/rider on a bike at Infineon. He gets in the history books as our rider for the first North American electric motorcycle road race. That was exciting, but I’m eager to see what a faster rider will do to our batteries, motor, and controller. Hopefully, we’ll get good data from Scotty and begin to fine tune the machine.” “I am very excited at the chance to be involved in the further development of the SWR1.” Says Scotty “I’ll admit, I haven’t ridden an electric bike before. But when John presented me with the opportunity to help, I jumped at the chance. Between John and Sean’s knowledge of the electronics end of the bike and our experience with chassis/suspension setup, we are looking to refine the package and move it closer to the competition. I am going into this weekend with an open mindset, Road America is a perfect track to shake the bugs out of any bike and that’s what we intend to do.” John Wild, (Motorcycle Builder/Racer) and Sean Ewing, (Electrical Engineer/Aircraft Mechanic) partnered together at the beginning of the 2010 season. Both men had a vision of building and racing an Electric Motorcycle – TTXGP created a venue for them to realize that vision. With the ball rolling Team Square Wave Racing (SquareWaveRacing.com) was formed and they had a bike built and on the grid in only 13 weeks for the first round of the series at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma California. After being the only bike to finish all on track sessions – Finishing 7th in the race was an accomplishment in itself. It’s off to Round 2. About Scotty Ryan, (Motorcycle Racer/Business owner) Scotty has been involved in the racing scene for a number of years. Having ridden for such teams as: Pair-A-Nines Kawasaki, SpeedWerks.com Suzuki and Safety First Suzuki. This season Scotty is pulling double duty between running the family’s suspension company Trackside Suspension & Engineering (Tracksidesuspension.com) and competing in the ASRA Team Challenge Series with his wife Meghan Ryan for Team Stiles. Scotty would like to thank his personal sponsors: Trackside Suspension & Engineering, Bliss Machine, Michelin Tires, Penske Racing Shocks, Vanson Leathers, WoodCraft and Hindle Exhausts
