WMRRA Star Eli Edwards Breaks Another Track Record, Wins 4 Races After Returning From AMA Races On Saturday in WMRRA’s Bell Helmets Open Supersport, Eli Edwards on his SpeedDealer/WOW Baking Company, Dunlop shod Yamaha R1 shattered the Spokane Raceways overall track record by 4 tenths of a second on lap 6 with a time of 1:25.979, besting the previous record held by Ross DeLong of 1:26.389. Edwards final 4 laps of the race were all under the old track record. He went on to win the race ahead of former track record holder Ross DeLong by 3.389 seconds. On Sunday in WMRRA’s premier class, Performance Coatings Formula Ultra, Eli Edwards, aboard his SpeedDealer/WOW Baking Company, Dunlop shod Yamaha R1, broke the record he had set the day before on lap 5, of 1:25.975. Edwards went on to win the race and now holds the track record at both of WMRRA’s race tracks. This was Eli Edwards first race weekend back with WMRRA since traveling to Infineon for the AMA MotoJam event where he had placed 9th in the Daytona SportBike race, just two weeks prior. In addition, Aaron Gwin broke the 600 class track record in Halpin Custom Sportbikes 600 Superbike on his SpeedDealer, Dunlop shod Suzuki GSX-R 600 with a 1:28.156 besting the previous record held by himself of 1:28.660. Ross DeLong also set a new 750 class track record in the R-Tech Fuel/Ricci Motorsports 750 Superbike class, aboard his Dunlop shod Suzuki GSX-R750, of 1:27.799.
