Stuart Easton and the Swan Honda team are gearing up to repeat their race-winning form this week as they prepare to light up the roads as the team return for an assault on the International North West 200. Easton currently lies third in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship standings and makes his return to the NW200 following a two year absence, but he now has his sights firmly set on maintaining his winning streak as he targets a debut win in the Superbike and Superstock classes. Easton said: “I have done the North West 200 before but I have never won and the best result I had was a fourth in 2006, but this year I have a really strong package with the Swan Honda so I think I have a really good shot this year. Racing on the roads is a completely different discipline to racing on track but I am looking forward to the challenge of racing nine miles on public roads as there is so much going on. It is a great experience and hopefully I can take the winning form from Oulton Park and do the same on the roads for the Swan Honda team.” Team Manager Shaun Muir said: “We always enjoy the NW200 races and this year is no different. Stuart will have as good a chance as anyone else on the grid, and having excelled at the Macau GP for the past two years after a two year absence, familiarising himself with the triangle should not pose too much of a problem. The decision to open the circuit to a full day’s practice on Thursday is a big step forward and the organisers should be applauded for the change. For all concerned, riders, teams and spectators, we hope that Saturday brings some good weather and uninterrupted races.”
