Lee’s Cycle and San Diego BMW Motorcycles Team up to Race New S 1000 RR San Diego, CA — San Diego BMW Motorcycles and Lee’s Cycle Service formed a new race team for the California State Championship Series, featuring Jeremy Toye, riding on the new BMW S 1000 RR Liter Bike. The strategic alliance between Lee’s Cycles and San Diego BMW Motorcycles is already showing promise. Testing began on April 26, 2010 when the co-sponsored team arrived at Buttonwillow Raceway Park to warm up for the upcoming race season. Gary Orr, Managing Partner at San Diego BMW Motorcycles said, “There were a lot of Raised Eyebrows at Buttonwillow, seeing Jeremy Toye throw a leg over the BMW S1000RR”¦This first day of testing on a stock bike showed real promise.” In fact, they were only a little over a second off the track record in the configuration set up that day. Jeremy Toye, owner of Lee’s Cycle, plans to take on the California State Championship Series, the 2010 Lucas Oil Superbike Challenge in Utah, and select rounds of WSMC, WERA races throughout the 2010 racing season. Jeremy is a well known and respected personality on the international race scene, having a long history on Japanese Super bikes, racing in the Isle of Man and AMA series, to name few. As Toye put it, “The race industry needs a little injection right now. BMW entering this class is good for racing and will be exciting for spectators.” There may be a healthy rivalry forming between BMW and the Japanese manufactures, who have dominated super bike racing for decades. If a modified S1000RR performs any better than the stock version that Toye tested last week, we may be witness to some of the most exciting racing in recent history. Toye will be modifying two S 1000 RR’s at his shop, Lee’s Cycle Service. With over 20 years of experience and professional knowledge. Lee’s Cycle Service is Southern California’s leading motorcycle shop in technology. San Diego BMW Motorcycles is one of the largest BMW dealerships in the U.S. and will supply logistical, technical, and financial support for the team.
