Josh Hayes, Superbike Pro Racer — Graves Yamaha Josh Hayes came out in second place this past Sunday after a tough battle with Blake Young at Road Atlanta in the superbike race. While Hayes won the superbike race on Saturday, he was moved back to sixth place after AMA Pro officials realized they had made a mistake enforcing his penalty for a jumped start. Despite all the confusion, Hayes demonstrated true professionalism and showed the crowd why he has won championships in the past. After a rough start to the season in Daytona, Hayes currently sits in fourth place overall, 38 points off of the series leader Jake Zemke. ~http://www.joshhayesracing.com~ Cory West, Daytona Sportbike Pro Racer — Vesrah Suzuki Cory West was on fire at Road Atlanta, (not literally) walking away with a second place finish and third place finish after two days of some very intense racing. He led the race both days but did not take the win this time. His fifth-place to first-place pass at Road Atlanta on Sunday was nothing short of amazing. The DSB class is super competitive this season with a pack of almost ten riders able to fight for the lead at any given time. West is in fourth place in the DSB class, just 26 points behind class leader Josh Herrin. ~http://www.vesrahsuzuki.com~ Gloria (Tramontin)Struck, Octogenarian Harley Rider — Member of Motor Maids Gloria Struck is in her eighties, but that didn’t stop her from shoveling snow this past March at her New Jersey home to clear a path for her Harley. Struck made the trip to Daytona this year as she does every year. She is proud to say that she does not trailer her bike to Daytona, she rides it. Struck has been member of the Motor Maids for 64 years and has many great stories to tell. She was recently featured on CBS while at Daytona Bike Week. She rides a 2004 Heritage Softtail Classic ~www.2wheeltips.com/videos/view/gloria-struck-from-motor-maids_2072.html~ ~www.thunderpress.net/MONTH_ARTICLE-pdfs/2010/0410/GloriaTramonti/GloriaTramonti.shtml~ Kailub Russell, GNCC XC2 Racer – KTM Team Since turning pro in 2008 Russell has been busy racking up wins and championships. He was the 2009 GNCC XC2 Champion and so far this year he has won three out of the four races. When he is not winning GNNC XC2 races he enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding and golfing. Russell races the KTM 250XC-F, his mechanic is David “Hollywood” Cripe and he calls North Carolina home. www.kailubrussell.com Dave Duprey, Owner, MISuperMoto.com MISuperMoto is the premier regional supermoto racing and track day series east of the Mississippi.
