Vesrah Suzuki’s Tray Batey is awake and alert and being examined at Gwinnett County Medical Center. Batey was unconscious and having trouble breathing when safety workers attended to him after his crash in Turn Six during Saturday’s AMA American Superbike race. Batey regained consciousness in the ambulance on the way to the track’s medical center, but he was flown to the hospital out of precaution. Batey has passed CT scans of his head and torso with positive results, according to Vesrah Suzuki Team Owner Mark Junge, and is now undergoing X-rays to check a possible wrist injury. AMA SuperSport racers Joey Pascarella and Elena Myers both crashed in what was believed to be fluid on the track on the sighting lap of their race Saturday. LTD Racing’s Pascarella injured his right shoulder and believes it may be broken or badly separated. “It’s hard to tell because it’s so swollen,” Pascarella told Roadracingworld.com on his way to the hospital to get X-rays. Because he is not competing in the SuperSport East Championship, Pascarella said he would sit out Sunday’s SuperSport race and begin healing for the next SuperSport West round at Infineon Raceway. Lucas Oils RMR Roadracingworld.com Suzuki’s Myers suffered an injury to her left foot, but X-rays at the hospital showed that no bones are broken, according to Team Owner Richie Morris. Myers plans to try and race on Sunday.
